Experience GENESIS, an artistic homage to the beginning of everything, in the heart of Graz.

The Experience

GENESIS turns the Herz-Jesu-Kirche into a living canvas. The immersive light show stages the birth of life: animations, perfectly adapted to the architectural features of the walls and vaults, merge with an original score.

The Venue

The Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Graz is one of the most significant buildings of late historicism in Styria. Built in the neo-Gothic brick Gothic style, it impresses with its striking brick architecture and its 109.6-metre tower, the third-tallest church tower in Austria. A special feature is its two-storey layout with a lower and an upper church, which came about because of the conditions of the building site. Inside, a large, largely column-free nave opens up with high vaults and a clear sense of space. The church also houses one of the few largely complete ensembles of neo-Gothic stained-glass windows in Austria. The interplay of pointed arches, tracery, stained glass and the characteristic brick structure shapes the interior and makes the Herz-Jesu-Kirche an outstanding example of historicist sacred architecture.
